Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
We enjoyed a fun week of silly
Seuss stories and tongue twisting rhymes!!
At the beginning of the week we made Cat in the
Hat pudding snacks in Kids Kitchen. We stirred up red pudding...
Added white marshmallows to create the white
stripes, and enjoyed a cat in the hat themed snack!
We have been practicing our scissor skills and
I found this adorable free worksheet for my munchkins to practice with.
We have been working on tracing all different
letters and here they traced many letters of the alphabet.
For snack on Tuesday we made strawberry and
banana striped Cat in the Hat, hats. These were delicious and nutritious!! My
munchkins stacked them themselves using their fine motor, hand-eye coordination
and practicing their patterning skills by alternating correctly between red and
white.
Tuesday was also Silly Sock Day!! Here are some
of my munchkin’s silly socks…
We read Fox in Socks and then practiced getting
our shoes on all by ourselves. This is no easy feat for a two and three year
old!
For art we designed our own silly socks and
talked about where we may wear them.
On Wednesday we read One Fish, Two Fish, Red
Fish, Blue Fish and then practiced our one-to-one correspondence by counting
our and pacing the correct number of fish one the correct numeral.
We also practiced our hand-eye coordination and
self control by completing a dot art worksheet outlining an H for Cat in the
Hat’s hat.
On Thursday we made our very own Cat in the
Hat, hat’s!
On Friday it was pajama day! We made Thing One
and Thing Two out of our hands…
We practiced our drawing skills and had fun
drawing cat in the hat on our own…
We ended the day with delicious Cat in the Hat
inspired cookies…
And Green Eggs and Ham, pudding and vanilla
wafer style J
We LOVE Dr. Seuss!
