Leprechauns,
Shamrocks, Rainbows and Green… It must be St. Patrick’s Day!!!
This week we celebrated the
upcoming holiday, St. Patrick’s Day.
We began by dying noodles green. We mixed
blue and yellow food coloring to create green, then added rubbing alcohol,
which keeps the noodles from getting soggy. Later in the week we used the
noodles to make necklaces.
Check out our water colored giant
shamrocks!! Coffee filters and water colors create the coolest effects. Not to
mention the awesome artists!!
We talked all about the
different things that are green around us. We used our ZooPhonics letter cards
for inspiration.
To help develop our fine motor
skills, we worked on attaching clothespins to shamrocks!!
We had fun with peppers,
shamrock shaped cookie cutters and sponges and made some great artwork!
We created stained glass
shamrocks with contact paper and tissue paper. Our favorite part was the sticky
paper!!
We tried to catch our own
leprechauns with a trap! We had tons of fun painting together.
My munchkins worked on our counting and
numeral identification skills with our Pot O’ Gold activity. After talking
about where leprechauns hide their gold we each took our own handful of gold
and added it to our pot.
We got to use our green
noodles and laced some fancy necklaces! We also used shamrocks to make these
extra special!
The best way to celebrate St.
Patrick’s Day is with a party! My munchkins decorated cookies with golden lemon
frosting and green sprinkles. Yummo!
Check out our cute little
handprints!! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
