The Leaves are Falling Down, The
Leaves are Falling Down, Red, Yellow, Green and Brown, The Leaves are Falling
Down!”
We welcomed Fall to our class with a focus on
the change of the season!! We were busy bodies this week but managed to capture
a few things that we did each day! Check out a little bit about what we did
this past week.
We were really lucky to have one of our awesome
classmates gather Fall leaves for our class and got to look through the
different leaves in our Kids Kitchen. We explored the leaves, noticed their
color and shapes and talked about why they weren’t green.
We made a Fall leaf collage for art, exploring
more Fall leaves and using our fine motor control to squeeze the glue all on
our own.
We love to look through storybooks and are
exploring the idea that the print in the book carries meaning. We are beginning
to discover that words are read from left to right too!
We have been talking a lot about the uppercase
alphabet lately and attempted to put our letters in order from A to Z with
these cool linking crabs! This was a great game that worked our letter
recognition and fine motor skills!
We decorated our door with fall colored sparkly
leaves!! We decorated sticky contact paper and enjoyed decorating our classroom
as much as we enjoyed the stickiness of the contact paper.
We have been practicing our self-control a lot
in our class!! Here, we used our dot art dotters to create an uppercase letter
B!! We chose blue or brown, a color beginning with “B” and also worked our
hand-eye coordination, while practicing with our letter of the week! Twisting on and off the caps of the dotters is also something we worked hard on!!
B is for bumble bee!! Thank you to one of our
wonderful father’s for this idea!! We made a bumble bee out of the uppercase
letter B!!
Look how wonderful we are sitting for Circle
Time!! Our self-control is improving more and more each day and this week we
were top-notch!!
“The Leaves are Falling Down…” we love this
song and danced while singing it each day to remind us what happens to the
trees during the Fall season.
“b” is for beans!!! We had tons of fun adding
beans to a lowercase letter b!! Some of us used a variety of colors, some
decorated in one color and others decorated by the hand-full!!
We have been in to 8-10 piece puzzles lately!!
Although they are difficult, we have been challenging ourselves and I couldn’t
be more thrilled with what my munchkins can do when they put their minds to
it!!
I hope you enjoyed the snapshot of our week. I
will be a much more thorough photographer this coming week for “Squirrels and
Acorns Week!”
