We learned all about reptiles and amphibians
this week!! We began our week by painting one of the larger reptiles, a
crocodile! Check out our Lyle, the Crocodiles!
We have been practicing our patterning skills
and I was able to snap a few pictures of us practicing our ABA and ABBA
patterning as a group. We are picking up this concept very quickly and I
couldn’t be prouder!!
On Tuesday some real reptiles came to visit
us!! We were so excited!!
We learned that snakes smell with their
tongues. We tried, but just couldn’t smell a thing J
To extend our learning we talked about snakes
and we made snake names for art!! We practiced putting our names in order and
had fun creating our very own snakes!
In the afternoon we added clothespin “legs” to
our crocodiles from Monday. Watch out, our crocodiles can walk around now!!
Here are some pictures of my munchkins having
some fun throughout the room. We just love to play mommy!!!
Check out our little engineers in the making!
On Wednesday the Reptile Wizard came to visit
us. I can’t tell you how lucky we felt to see all of the reptiles she
brought!!!
At art time we made some lizards that we could
take home to make as our very own pets!! We explored what happens when we mixed
blue and yellow and found out that we made green!
In the afternoon we explored weight
measurements!! We looked at the difference between different objects and their
weight, then explored the weight of some of our favorite reptiles, dinosaurs!!!
