Bugs, Bunnies and Eggs... Oh My!!!

Some bunnies learned all about flying bugs and ended the week with an Easter celebration!!

We began our week off by working our fine motor skills and addition development by opening Easter eggs to uncover ladybugs!! Each ladybug had a different amount of spots and my munchkins had fun counting their very own ladybug!

We made butterfly pretzels in our Kids Kitchen to begin our week off with flying bugs. We loved them and got to review all that we learned about them a couple of weeks ago.

We talked about flying bugs and learned that ladybugs actually have two sets of wings! We painted paper plates with red paint and waited to finish the craft in the afternoon.

We added dots and eye balls to our ladybugs in the afternoon, fine tuning our fine motor skills with the stickers and glue bottle squeezing.

We made dirt cups again! Although we made them last week, we couldn’t get enough of them. We took turns stirring the pudding and then I added the cookie crumbles and squirmy gummy worms.

Delish!!

For art today we water colored coffee filters and made dragonflies.
We learned all about these fast flying, water-loving, beautiful bugs.
(no photos unfortunately L)

On Wednesday we talked about Bumble Bees! We learned about how they make hunny, how bears love hunny and how helpful bumble bees are for our gardens! Check out our Bumble Bee Tootsies!!

On Thursday we learned about Spiders Although they don’t fly, they eat bugs that do!!

We made a crazy neon spider for art. My munchkins began by tearing paper, a fine motor feat, which was not as easy as one would think!

We pasted torn paper, in a mosaic type pattern, on to our neon paper and waited for it all to dry.

In the mean time, we played a fly swatting game! I made the phonetic sound for each letter and my munchkins had a blast swatting the correct ZooPhonics letter! Great work munchkins!

We also had fun throughout the week with a sensory tub that we filled with bugs, plastic grass and eggs! We filled the eggs with bugs, mix and matched eggs and had a blast looking for the bugs in the thick grass.

When our art was dry, in the afternoon, we added our eyes and legs to our spiders. As I attached things, my munchkins helped me count! Voila! Creepy Spiders!

Flying bugs were everywhere in our playground in the afternoon!! We got to check out some very friendly ladybugs up close and had so much fun!!

We dedicated our Friday to Easter celebrations!! We began by making Easter Bags that we used later. Small potatoes mimicked egg shapes and made for great egg printing!!

Then we dyed eggs! We used shaving cream and watercolors to create a really fun effect! Shaving cream is always so much fun!!!

In the afternoon we had our very own Easter Egg Hunt!! So much FUN!!!!!!

Hoppy Bunny Day Everyone!!
